This is an interesting (unglamourous) cover of Du Juan for Hong Kong’s English language magazine, WestEast. I have seen this magazine many times at Barnes & Nobles but never read it until recently. I always thought it was a California-based publication because of its focus American-American celebrities (instead of HK-celebrities).
The B&W photo plus minimal touch up (i.e. PhotoShop) makes for an interesting magazine cover. It was a brave attempt. It reminded me of a W Magazine editorial of Kate Moss without any makeup or PhotoShop.
